Chelsea Latest – Mata Mourinho Conundrum and Blame Game

Jose Mourinho has been facing a lot of criticism lately, one for the side’s performance, second for the comments and treatment of Juan Mata.
The performance finally turned better as after 4 games without a win Chelsea defeated Fulham. However, their best player of the last two seasons, Juan Mata was nowhere to be found.
Mourinho clearly stated that he is not doing enough and must earn his place in the Chelsea squad.
Mata Mourinho conundrum is getting fans frustrated who want their star man on the field but who is the player that fans want out of the lineup and why so early.
One cannot blame Mourinho as he knows that Mata relatively covers less ground as compared to the likes of Oscar, Schurrle and Hazard.
On the other hand, when you have that much quality at disposal, the level of talent that high, then surely Mata is not the problem nor the solution.
Chelsea are more than capable of winning without him. Mata started against Everton, was average, he got his chance against Basel, did not perform there either whereas even new signing Willian impressed more than the Spaniard.
In such a scenario, the blame game is not going to help Chelsea.
Whether Mourinho has anything personal against Mata is another debate that really should not be taken into perspective because as far as performance and the team structure is concerned, Jose is making the right choices.
