Reds may have won all their fixtures this season and a decent start always helps but some supporters believe that in the long run, Reds do not have enough quality as compared to rivals and will fall short of top 4 again.
Tottenham Hotspur have reinforced their side with top quality stars and are ready to take the final Champions League spot from archrivals Arsenal.
On the other hand Liverpool have focused on reducing wage bill more than bringing world class quality.
That being said, the merseysiders have done decent business by luring good players but their net spending this summer shows where the owners have focused more.
The image clearly explains that Liverpool have sold more and earned profit this transfer window. Fans are anxious to see at least a marquee signing to make a strong case of qualifying for top 4 as others have strengthened heavily (minus Arsenal).

I have to date agreed with FSG’s approach in getting Liverpool profitable again and back to where they should be in the CL, however, I now firmly believe that FSG do not have the money to run 2 sporting operations the Red Sox and LFC. We will not make it in to the top 4 this season with the players we have bought thus far and this will only reinforce to Suarez that we are not ambitious enough and he will go as soon as he gets the chance. Other clubs have reinforced with top quality players and this makes our job even harder. I cannot see us bringing any other players in of note this transfer window. Victor Moses, really, is this really the calibre of player that will fire us into the top 4. We need someone at the club with decent negotiating skills as as much as Ian Ayre loves the club if it is him responsible for transfer negotiations then he is inept. Other teams identify their targets and go for them us, we just try and pitch it an half the asking price and then after weeks of protracted negotiations find that they sign for someone else. We really are penny pinching now and unless we are either bought by someone who has the financial support to compete for the best players we will languish in the top 10 for several years to come.

The owners talk big and deliver little. Werner said that this summer’s window would be “big” – well it’s a big disappointment. The squad depth has remained the same and top quality has not come in. The wage bill has been slashed. Werner also said that the club could compete financially with anybody.

I think FSG have given up on LFC. No ambition, no investment, no money, no interest! They are out of their depth with Liverpool, our global fan base will dwindle if this continues.
