The transfer saga of Cesc Fabregas is about to come to end and it looks likely that the Spaniard will stay at Barcelona this summer, much to the disappointment of Manchester United manager who is still looking to sign his first big name player for the club.
The fans are still hopeful but if the deal does not go through then reports suggest that United are to launch €30m bid to somehow sign Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio. David Moyes wants the versatile Italian at United as an alternate for Fabregas.
Nevertheless, signing Marchisio is not going to be easy as well. The Italian is key member of Old Lady squad that won consecutive Serie A titles and Juventus have no plans of selling him either.
Juventus director general Beppe Moratta recently claimed:
“Juventus have never thought about selling Marchisio. Not now, not ever”
Moyes wants a top quality center midfielder in the lineup next season. However, he is finding it hard to sign one despite the fact that United is an attractive destination for any footballer. Or perhaps it is not the same without Ferguson?
Marchisio is naturally a center midfielder and regularly plays in the same position but that is not the only side of his game. With top passing ability, he also possess great strength and an eye for goal.
He is also utilized as a defensive and attacking midfielder. The Italian scored 8 goals and provided 4 assists for Juventus last season. Adding to that his overall pass completion percentage was 84%.
If United do miss out on Fabgreas then Marchisio can be a brilliant alternate. However, as mentioned, signing him is easier said than done and United may even have to pay more than the mentioned €30m to lure the versatile midfielder.

Moyes should sign atleast one player and stop jumping from one player to another without signing any, we are tired of rumure every day please.

This moyes is totally confused, he thougth this is everton? From this player to the other without completing, everyday I hear of man u closing in on every target yet they don’t come to be true. If he is not composed of what he is doing, he won’t even last a season at man u. Ordinary felaini he can’t convince to come then who can he tell then? Mtcheew. Am tired of this man.
David Moyes cannot sign just any player for the sake of it ,whoever he signs has to be better than what he already has and believe it or not he has an excellent squad so that narrows it down to just a few players that have the necessary skill and experience,and to make it even more difficult he is going for the best of these few,so patience people David Moyes will land his man !!
