The merseysiders are very keen to sign Shakhtar Donetsk star Henrikh Mkhitaryan and reports suggest that only asking Price now separates Liverpool and Armenian International.
According to former Russian international Alexander Bubnov, Mkhitaryan is being chased by three clubs that are reportedly Anzhi, German club Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool. However, the Russian suggests that Mkhitaryan wants to join Liverpool.
Bubnov told Russian Daily:
“Henry will be a perfect fit for Anzhi in terms of the quality of their play, But (Mkhitaryan) wants Liverpool”
Dortumund and Liverpool have been interested in both Eriksen and Mkhitaryan and the Germans got enough funds from the sale of Mario Goetze that they can sanction a deal for any of them. However, surely they will not look to sign two players for the same position.
Anzhi may as well be favorites for the time being as they have the tendency to bid higher than the two rivals.
However if Liverpool are not reluctant about paying the asking price then they can land Mkhitaryan since he wants to join Reds.
Shakhtar has made it clear that they are ready to listen to offers for the Armenian midfielder but will only sell at the right price that is 25 million pounds.
Liverpool have already signed four players and sold former Newcastle United star Andy Carroll to West Ham lately, which takes their net spending up to 7 million pounds for the summer. They should have funds available to meet Shaktar’s asking price but will FSG be willing to sanction that amount remains to be seen.
The Reds supporters will be hoping they can sign Mkhitaryan as well as keep star striker Luis Suarez, that will be a perfect scenario to amplify their chances of qualifying for top 4 next season after a wait of 4 long years.

Lfc sign Mkhitaryan NOW
I suggest that LFC must be sing Mkhitaryan b/c of most player r young ,so z club need experienced player. all z best LFC!!!!!!!!!
FSG will not sanction spending that kind of money on one player. Just accept the fact.
Why not? They spent more on Carroll, a similar amount on Suarez and only a bit less on Downing and Henderson. They managed to claw back some of the money wasted buying Carroll and in all likelyhood will make a huge profit on Suarez, if they think he’s good enough there’s no reason why not, he’s only young and will have more of a resale value than all but Suarez. Could prove a clever signing if we only pay the release clause and then add one of our own.
And if they do Bill. What you gonna do then mate?
The money is just too much, 20 million will be Ok
Let FSG spend the money for such a quality player and offload players like hendreson, downing, shelvy and borini to raise the fund and also cut there wage bill
With competition from other clubs it boils down to “Put up the money or leave it alone”. If FSG are serious, they must back Rodgers on this one”.
We shud try and secure this guy signature the ealier the better becos i can see is a nice guy with more to prove, becos the amount is nt much if we can get andy for such amount
You are right. Incidentally, “becos” is spelt ‘because’.
Let FSG mind their own business.we want the player not the money that we’ll spend.a good player don’t come as cheap.
A good player is never too expensive.go get him fsg.ynwa
Fsg should back br buy this player and sell the likes of shelvey, spearing, borini to meet up the amount
