Liverpool Chasing Young Spaniard Again

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona winger Cristian Tello. Although reports suggested that reds may include Pepe Reina in the deal but Rodgers is not looking to lose his key players as he looks to build squad for the next season. Still, the merseysiders may move for the young Spaniard again.
Having implemented his methods in the first season, Rodgers looks to target the much coveted 4th spot for Liverpool next season. Liverpool have not qualified for the Champions League for the last four seasons and reinforcements in summer may prove as a major step towards changing that.
Liverpool have many attacking options upfront and the addition of two top quality signings in January have strengthened them even more. Phil Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge have done wonders for the club since moving to anfield. These two combined with Suarez make a deadly attacking lineup.
Although Reds will be mainly focusing on improving their defense this summer as legendary Jamie Carragher will no longer be there and they have been relatively weak in the defensive department under Rodgers this season. Still, paying 8 odd million in attack for Cristian Tello may prove fruitful for the reds.
The Catalan forward can provide blistering pace to the lineup along with skills and goals. Downing has done well this season for the reds but Tello can surely be an upgraded version and will also add to the depth as well.
The two counter arguments to bringing Tello can be that Liverpool already have young starlets waiting for regular football at Anfield and they are by all means talented. Raheem Sterling started the season brightly but perhaps wore out soon. Suso showed glimpses of his quality as well. Rodgers may as well look to give them more exposure next season and may save funds to utilize them elsewhere.
The other aspect is whether Tello will be inclined to join Liverpool. The young Spaniard has only started 11 league games for the star studded Barca side and scored 7 goals still no one likes to leave a club like Barcelona these days who seemingly guarantee trophies and Tello just won his first La Liga crown.
He may not find enough motivation to move to Liverpool, even if it is about getting first team football, Tello may opt to stay and win his place at the Catalan club like many others did.
As mentioned already, Rodgers main focus should be on reinforcing defense because attack is going just fine as they have been scoring goals for fun lately. Whether or not Liverpool will up their interest in the versatile winger, only time will tell.
