Arsenal have been long term admirers of many top talents over the years but whenever a sum of 30 40 odd million is in discussion, they are automatically considered out of the race because of the rigid transfer policy. Having experienced all that many times, should Arsenal fans lower their transfer expectations?
Although the gunner fans will be delighted if their side once again achieves Champions League qualification but by no means they are going to be content with only that. No matter how many ups and downs they face, Arsene Wenger somehow finds the solution to at least ensure a top 4 finish.
However, the disappointment of not winning a trophy enlarges every passing year. Now that 8 long years have gone by, surely the fans are frustrated.
Over the years, Arsenal have been famous for signing young talents, turning them into stars but the problem is, they are also renowned for selling those stars just because it makes more business sense and profit. Such a philosophy has inevitably never worked for them. In fact, other clubs took advantage and won trophies.
If only, Arsenal would have done more to keep their key players, they might have been able to end the long trophy drought. That is exactly what the supporters are expecting next season plus the injection of new talent.
Once again the fans have their expectations sky high as rumors are linking them with top starlets as usual. Mario Gotze, Jovetic, Isco are by all means top quality talents. On the other hand, they are by all means expensive as well.
Like every year, Arsenal make profit and fans dream of star signings but instead see their star players leave and Wenger has to start all over again. Again the figures of 30 odd million are coming up and again Arsenal are linked as well and in turn the expectations of Arsenal fans are growing.
Some fans have been so desperate that they wanted Arsene Wenger out of the club for all the reasons mentioned above, even after serving them for so long.
The time has come that the manager may as well have to break the bank without selling already settled stars as that is significant if they are to compete with the very best teams and win top prizes.
For Arsenal fans, they should lower the expectations for the time being. Rumors and speculations always excite the supporters but considering their past experiences, perhaps the gunners should follow the saying “seeing is believing” and only jump with joy when the change is visible.

Cudnt have put that in a better way. Atleast this time no player is despearate to leave the club like persie or Nasri so wenger wont have to deal with makin busines sense there. And to save his job he will sign quality for sure. Hoping for Gotze to come
Not signing any one who is more than 20m. Known fact plus the financial rules are coming so no way sad
Isco gotze jovetic…..really ? For 70m I’m sorry but they are just talented kids. Personally I think podolski cazorla and giroud in their 2nd seasons will give us more of a chance of winning something than those 3 kids. For me its about signing half a dozen players that will really make difference where its needed most. Our attcking 4 of the 3 mentioned and walcott could well end the season with 70 goals between them. We are the 2nd highest goalscorers in the league only behind united. We are very close to united and chelsea in terms of defending yet people are clamouring for us to sign players very similar to what we already have yet less tallented less experienced yet for heaps of cash. What we need to do is replace the following
Fabianski with a top keeper. Fab has done well but is too injury proned and out of contract. Make szcesney stay and fight the new number new one all the way. Sell mannone and promote martinez to jo.3
In defence I would keep sagna but not as the right back I would have him as our 9th defender one that cam cover both full backs and centre back. Move on santos squillaci and djourou instead buying another rb and another cb. Then midfield sell denilson eastmond and retire diaby and buy a beast of a dm like wanyama or capoue or the cheap option diame. Then the attack let’s sign two wingers and falcao whilst selling/releasing arshavin park chamakh bendtner.
