Top 4 Dream Not Over Yet for Arsenal

Top 4 Dream Not Over Yet for ArsenalTottenham defeated Arsenal 2-1 at White Hart Lane to go seven points clear of their North London rivals. Although the defeat is a major blow for the Gunners still with 10 games remaining in the premier league, their top 4 dream is not over yet.
Arsenal have never failed to qualify for the Champions league under the management of Arsene Wenger. Adding to that they have never finished below their arch rivals Spurs in the league in Wenger’s reign as well. However, the former is more significant than the latter as not qualifying for Europe’s top competition will be a disaster for Arsenal.
Gunners have been on a roller coaster ride this season much like last season but then they had Robin van Persie who ripped defenses apart and ensured them third place. This year the task is even more difficult without their main talisman who joined Manchester United last summer.
Currently Arsenal are in 5th position and 5 points behind Chelsea who occupy the last champions league qualification place. The Blues are 2 points adrift third place occupied by Spurs as they look to battle for direct qualification to Champions league group stages. Here is the list of remaining premier league games of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham.

Arsenal Chelsea Tottenham Remaining Games

Arsenal have been way too unpredictable this season but looking at their remaining fixtures, gunners perhaps have a relatively easy ride as compared to Chelsea and Spurs who have numerous big games coming up.
Moreover, Chelsea and Tottenham are also involved in the Europa League for now, whereas Arsenal, as it seems will be ousted from the champions league against Bayern Munich having more than a mountain to climb at the Allianz Arena. That elimination may help them in concentrating more on the league.
Having said that, this year, qualification for top 4 is even harder than ever for the Gunners. Fans have never been that frustrated in Wenger’s reign than now and failing to qualify for Champions League will further amplify the anxiety. Arsenal must find top form in the ending stages of the season like they did last year or else the top 4 dream may as well be over.
