Having signed for Manchester United in 2007, Nani has won many titles with the club. The Portuguese was players’ player of the year in the title winning campaign of 2010-2011 and was even included in PFA team of the year. However, now the winger finds himself in a complex scenario.
Since 2011, it has been a rollercoaster ride for Nani. Due to the addition of new talent in the squad and his inconsistent form, Nani has not been able to play week in week out. Thus the 26 year old is linked elsewhere to find regular football. Here are the different views on Nani’s situation.
Manager Alex Ferguson has made it clear that the club wants to keep the versatile winger. Although he has struggled with injury this season, still the boss believes he has the quality and talent to win big matches and that is why Manchester United must do all to keep him. Ferguson claimed:
“The boy has an incredible talent for winning matches. He’s one of the best match-winners in the game, and I include the whole of Europe in that”
Alex Ferguson has more than a few attacking options and because of that the inclusion in the first team has been really difficult for Nani who has 18 months left on his contract. Valencia and Young normally start on the wings but even they are not guaranteed starters all the time, such is the talent United have at their disposal.
Hence, Nani, who is reaching peak of his career, surely wants to play first team football on regular basis. If he does not find that happening for Manchester United then he may as well leave the club in summer. Ferguson did claim that if Nani plays at the top level he will be picked to start but whether Nani is up for that challenge, we will have the answer soon.
The Manchester United fans are divided on this subject. A major chunk of fans do want Nani to stay with the Red Devils, on the other hand another major chunk want him out of the club as soon as possible. Some certainly have affection for him as he has served the club for more than 5 years, which is a long period. On the other hand, some believe that he is too inconsistent to be part of the team.
On his day Nani is at times unstoppable but the fact is that his days “rarely” come these days and United have numerous quality options to cover. Adding to that, Nani can still be sold at a decent price and some $$$ can be added to buy a top replacement for the Portuguese. We shall soon find out how the saga concludes.
Dont need him improvement required Brinng Di Maria in
Nani is d best winger we hv i want him 2 stay, our manage shld gv him wht he is demandin for 2 b ahead of valencia an ashley young, pls sir i beg u gv him dt chance he ask for.
the guy just needs game tima and faith.. he will grow and be a great winger in europe. he has his negatives though which mostly are selfishness and too ambitious to score… he has to stay and retain his place
Why is it that people dont see the real truth even when the truth is open….we all knows that Nani is one of the best wingers in the world selling nani wil be the biggest mistake just lik selling cr7….. Valencia is not a winger i think we made mistake in buying valencia pls stop comparering Nani and Young or valencia becouse he got alot of talent he only need time to play.
United should stop tinking of selling nani bcos h’is a talented winger.but due to injuries he had experienced dis season he haz not been in his constant form, but all he need’s is a regular playin time to met up,h’is indid a superior winger
