Sahin Wants Long Term Dortmund Stay

Sahin Wants Long Term Dortmund StayHaving re-signed for the German side Dortmund, Nuri Sahin wants long term stay at the club. The Turkish international left Real Madrid to join English side Liverpool on loan in summer but his time in England was perhaps as frustrating as in Spain.
After an Injury plagued season at Real Madrid, Sahin was more of a bench warmer at Liverpool as well. He could only feature 7 times in the league for the reds as manager Brendan Rodgers favored his own signing Joe Allen.
The versatile midfielder has admitted that his time with Spanish Champions and with Liverpool were not the best and the main cause behind the drop of his form. Sahin claimed:

“I can only play 100 per cent when I am happy. This wasn’t the case at Madrid and Liverpool,”
“That’s why I wanted to return to Dortmund.
“I just hope this story here will last for a long, long time. I know where I want to be, and I am there now.”

Fair to say, he is a top talent who could not get his chances at two of the world’s biggest clubs. It is completely unfair to say that the Turkish star was a failure in La Liga and premier league as he never played enough games to be judged.
With Madrid, Sahin only made mere 4 league appearances and in his short tenure for the Reds, he did score 3 times and provided 3 assists as well. The arrival of Luka Modric in Madrid meant that he had to leave for England to find starting place but sadly it did not work out there too as Liverpool had crowded center midfield.
Without a doubt, Sahin is a quality player. Not to forget, he was Bundesliga’s player of the season two years back and believes he can get his top form back with Dortmund again. A long term stay with German Champions may as well revive Sahin.
