Paris Saint Germain are just one of many clubs monitoring the situation of David Beckham after he announced that he is to leave LA Galaxy at the end of the MLS season.
Beckham is ready for one last challenge in his career and a whole host of clubs could make a move for him in the New Year. There is plenty of speculation about where he could be heading and the French big-spenders might try and lure him to Paris.
However, it is likely that the former England captain will only head to a team that is right for his family and one that will give him regular first-team football.
PSG offered him a multi-million deal back in November last year but Beckham did not move for family reasons, so it is unlikely he will be heading to France.
A move that would seem to suit the midfielder is one to Australia to play in, and try to improve the A-League – which does need a few more big names to boost its profile.
Emile Heskey and Alessandro Del Piero are two men currently plying their trade in the Australian top flight, but if it is big personal they are after, then there is no one better than Beckham.
He has certainly given the MLS a much better name and he could have a big influence down under. The standard is fairly poor and the game really does need a boost with a number of sports a lot more popular in the country right now.
When it comes to lifestyle and a place to settle his family – then Australia could be the perfect place for him to see out his career. Central Coast Mariners and Melbourne Heart are the two teams most likely to secure his services.
Some may want Beckham back in the Premier League, but why would he want to finish his incredible career warming the bench and not playing much football?
