Liverpool’s poor start to the premier league campaign hit new lows as defeat to Arsenal means the reds have made their worst start to a season since 1962-1963. Rodgers’s side might just be playing good football but the end product is just like last season i.e. Liverpool are creating chances but cannot seem to find the net. New gunners Podolski and Cazorla were on the score sheet as Arsenal registered their first win of the new campaign at Anfield.
The reds dominated possession and the first half but against the run of play Arsenal countered as Gerrard gave the ball away cheaply, Cazorla provided the most perfect of passes for Podolski to score. Being a goal down, Liverpool did regroup to create opening but time after time failed to finish the moves.
Last season, reds had the worst conversion rate in the premier league, they badly needed a goal scorer, a year later, and they still badly need a goal scorer. For worst, Liverpool loaned out record signing Carroll and replaced him with no one on the deadline day. Brendan Rodgers, asked would he have let Carroll go if he knew Liverpool would not sign anyone: “No” Was he confident he would: “Very”. But in the end, Rodgers was made to look like a fool as Liverpool failed to bring in any replacement.
Fair to say Liverpool dominated City at most times last weekend and controlled more possession today versus Arsenal but yet they have only scored two goals and that too on “Set Pieces”, Skrtel from a corner and Suarez from a direct free kick. All the good passing football means absolute nothing if a team just cannot score.
Arsenal on the other hand had the same problem going into this fixture. They had worst chance conversion in the first two games and although Giroud is still missing some easy chances still the other new signings made amends today. The dilemma for Liverpool is that they still have not got easy fixtures ahead and they have to fix this before it all turns worst, Rodgers claims.
“We created enough chances but were not clinical enough. There is a lot of good to come from the game but we lost and we need to improve”
They surely need to improve big time if they are to challenge for that champions league place. Whether signing a free agent striker will help, Owen or anyone else, Or playing Borini centrally and Suarez outwide, they must sort out the scoring problem soon or perhaps end up finishing out of top four for the fourth consecutive season.

Horror situation for Rodgers, must be fearing the worst
Gerrard is just under the “LOYAL TO THE CLUB” pressure, otherwise there is nothing left at Liverpool for a player of his caliber. He knows he is old, he doesn’t have enough football left in him, but he won’t leave as the fans won’t forgive him joining any other rival club in the league. I think this LOYALTY BANNER is stupidity in football world. players have the right to move on. Anyways Liverpool is way out of the top four competition right now and the way things are, one cannot see them making it to the top 4.
Rodgers did not miss the ball crucillay in midfield that lead to goal it was GERRARD
Rodgers did not make a mess of Cazorla shot to concede it was REINA
The New style is good Stupid mistakes by Senios LFC players cost us, ultimately Rodgers suffering,
Borini was ineffective. So was Sahin but in his defense, it was his first game in one of the toughest leagues in the world, after a year-long hiatus. Suarez needs to step up IMO: less theatrics, more ruthlessness in front of goal. But the most worrisome thing for the KOP right now is, what’s up with Reina?
Reina seems to save the hard ones and blunders on the easy ones, Dont know whats gone wrong for him. He was the king of premier league few seasons back, since benitez left, wev seen the worst of him mostly
