Olympique Lyonnais’ star Alexandre Lacazette has lifted the curtain on his eventual move to England over the summer of 2016, saying that a Premier League transfer would be “very attractive” for him.
The forward, who is 24 years old, managed to score a total of 27 goals for his side in League 1 over the 2014/2015 campaign. He also signed a new contract with Olympique Lyonnais until the summer, and has been recently rumoured to be considering a move to England.
As a matter of fact, several of the best clubs in the Premier League have made an attempt to attract him to their side. Lacazette, on the other hand, is also interested in a future transfer in England. This is exactly why he revealed in an interview for a reputable international media that he had already informed his current team of his interest and would be glad to start exploring various transfer options.
The forward, who has been with Olympique Lyonnais since 2010, confessed that the believes the Premier League is pretty attractive for every football player. Lacazette also said he is aware of the fact that he needs to perform more than well over the current campaign in order to boost his chances of going there. This is why he is currently focused “on doing well”, and hopes he would become part of the Premier League after the end of his contract.
There are many possibilities for Lacazette, who has managed to become one of the most exciting and attractive strikers not only in Ligue 1, but in European football world as a whole.
Last week, the president of Olympique Lyonnais – Jean-Michel Aulas – shared that the 24-year-old forward would probably stay at his side for a long time. However, this information has been disproved by Lacazette himself, who revealed that the club’s president is aware of his plans.
The player also said that there has been no formal agreement made for an eventual transfer to England, but Lyon’s president knows about the chance that he could leave his side at the end of the current campaign.
The forward, who is also part of France national football team, categorically denied speculations that he is to take advantage of the January transfer window in order to move. He said he plans to stay at Lyon over the winter since he had set some personal objectives until the end of the current campaign. Lacazette said that talks between him and his club over leaving or staying at Olympique Lyonnais are to be held at the end of the season.
