Arsenal Injury Boost – Star Could Play in First Team

Arsenal star Abou Diaby returned to action after a long term injury as he played 45 minutes for the U21 side yesterday.
Gunners led Chelsea 1-0 at halftime but the Blues bounced back in the second period to score 2 goals and win the game.
The positive thing for Arsenal is that Diaby came out of the game well and is even ready to return to first team action.
Will Wenger include him in the squad for the weekend’s game against Newcastle, we shall see but he surely said positive things about Diaby.
Wenger when asked whether Diaby can play for the first team he claimed:

“Yes of course [he could play for the first team this season], it depends how well he comes out of the game. He hasn’t played for a year but physically he is ready to play, completely. It is now just decision-making, getting used to challenges again. He needs a game.”
“Everybody [counted him out] but he is fit and ready.”

With Flamini returning and Ramsey already back in form, it is highly unlikely that Diaby will get a chance to play in the first team as gunners fight for the all important fourth spot.
Failing to secure Champions league football will eventually mean that season is a failure as they were title contenders only a month back.
