Liverpool have topped the weekly charts of AP rankings for the fourth time and are head of teams like Atletico Madria and Borussia Dortmund.
Reds have been blistering form since the turn of the year and have lately registered 10th consecutive premier league win by beating Manchester City at Anfield.
The rankings and points are as follows.
- 1. Liverpool, 150.
- 2. Atletico Madrid, 146.
- 3. Borussia Dortmund, 125.
- 4. Chelsea, 101.
- 5. Real Madrid, 47.
Not just that, Liverpool players are right up there in the rankings as well but the leader of the list is Dortmund’s Marco Reus who was fantastic against Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, the two CL semi-finalists.
Sterling and Couitnho make it to the top 5 after their match winning displays against 2012 champions City. On the other hand, captain Steven Gerrard also makes the list but only in 9th place.
- 1. Marco Reus, 136.
- 2. Gonzalo Higuain, 102.
- 3. Demba Ba, 98.
- 4. Philippe Coutinho, 77.
- 5. Raheem Sterling, 49.
Liverpool should be considered favorites to make it 11 wins on the trot when they face Norwich at Carrow Road.
However, the game against Chelsea on April 27th may as well decide whether Liverpool will win the league or not.
