Arsenal manager has come up and stated that he is well aware of the situation Fabregas is in and if needed, he can utilize the first buy option in Cesc’s contract to bring him back. It is likely that Arsene Wenger will block Manchester United’s approach to sign his former captain.
Fabregas has reiterated many times that he is happy playing for his boyhood club Barcelona and has no intentions of leaving. On the other hand, Wenger claims that Cesc will stay with Catalan side for one more year, unless things change.
Following 7-1 friendly victory over Vietnam, Arsene Wenger stated:
“Fabregas has decided to stay one more year at Barcelona. Unless he has changed his mind. I don’t know. But that’s what I have been told.”
“We have the clause in his contract so we would be on alert but at the moment that’s not something we are after”
It seems that Manchester United are set to be disappointed again in hope of signing a top quality center midfielder as they only recently lost the race to Bayern Munich to hire the services of Thiago Alcantara.
The clause in Fabregas’s contract Wenger is talking about suggests that Gunners have first buy option for the Spaniard and will get half fee if he leaves for a club other than Arsenal.
Arsenal fans will be overjoyed with the fact that their manager has confirmed the reported clause in Fabregas’s contract and gives them hope of signing their ex-captain. Moreover, Barcelona will surely like to get full fee from Fabregas’s sale and that way they will prefer selling to Arsenal as well.
To sum it all up, Wenger is convinced that Fabregas is staying for another year, however if (a big if) he wants to leave this summer then Arsene will not let Manchester United sign Cesc by bringing the clause into action.
Lastly, it will be Catalan star to decide where he wants to move and he has always said that if he goes back to premier league, it will be with Arsenal but well you just cannot trust footballers these days. Can he be trusted? We shall have the answer when he decides to leave Barca.

You can’t trust footballers these days. This sums it up. Arsenal stood by RVP when he was out with injury for along period. What do they get in return?u
Well, funny you talk of RVP, Karma is a bitch they say, Man united are in the same situation with Rooney, it is increasingly looking likely that they will sell him to competition. Oh he will come back to haunt them..
We hope Wenger buy him back, bcos he is d only one dt can be easily understand our players for now.And more he turned me to barca fan due to d love i hve for him
An Arsenal fan changing his colours, why does that not surprise me ?probably be a few more now Cazorla looks to be leaving !
Thanks for that it seems a lot clearer now !
We will see if truely he is a gunner!
Alot of people getting the clause wrong, arsenal get 50% of any profit made from the sale ie. if he cost barce 30 mill and they sell him for 35 mill, arsenal get 2.5 mill from sale. Heard a top journalist discuss it the other day. Also if RVP can choose to leave arsenal for utd then don’t be at all surprised if cesc does the same, sure he left you two years ago, he owes them nothing. Utd are a far more attractive club to join
because of the clauses basically Cesc could only return to us. we could chose not to use the buy back clause and take the 50% sell on fee instead.. so if manure paid 50 mil, 25 goes to us.. as much as I rate Cesc I don’t think he should be a priority. at the end of the day we had Cesc & a good striker for years & years & they didn’t win us much.. instead of replacing Cesc with Cesc, we should be replacing Viera with Fellaini.
If your destination is distant, take off early! That should also apply to Arsenal transfers – just like we did with Podolski’s case. I say so because I feel for us diehard Arsenal fans who season-in season-out suffer this same kind of pressure both during transfers and when the season is running.
We can not wait to see him playing under wenger once again
Wenger won’t be buying sweet F.A. Same old story ” working hard but not close to signing anybody” yawn! oh those dreaded words that every gooner wants to hear.
I hope that we’re not close to signing Wenger either because with him at the helm none of the top players will sign for us they’re not stupid they know that we don’t or won’t win now’.t thanks to Wenger’s stinginess in the market instead of building when we were in a strong position to do so now that he has the cash players still won’t sign preferring to go to other clubs it’s just like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted so for the sake of our beloved club I wish he’d have been on that horse
Its bcos u ar not a true gunner. If u ar,u wuldnt follow any player to a club he goes. U cant love him more I do. D same goes 4 Henry nd RVP. I love dem all but never dumped Arsenal 4 d clubs dey went. But I withdrew my love 4 dat traitor called Van Pussy 4 signind 4 our long time enemy. So,be firm in ur support 4 ur club. Shikena!
Why?? he doesn’t play for Arsenal.. Wenger needs to concentrate on beating Spurs to the champions league. Arsenal are no longer big enough to play games with the big boys..
