Eden Hazard was one of the best players of the premier league last season. Before signing for Chelsea, the Belgian showed interest in joining many clubs such as the likes of United, Arsenal, Liverpool and even Spurs but eventually ended up signing for then European Champions Chelsea.
At that time, he praised every other club looking to find the best one for himself, now it seems he is onto similar things praising every other striker to find the best one for Chelsea. The former Lille star claims that he wants to see England star Rooney to join Chelsea and also praises compatriot Benteke as well.
Chelsea have made their interest clear in Wayne Rooney and officially enquired about the former Everton striker, however the Red Devils turned their offer down. Hazard lately claimed that he is a big admirer of Rooney:
“Rooney would be a brilliant signing for Chelsea, he’s a great player who has the experience and he’s still only young, at 27.”
“He would do well here”
Mourinho is not going to give up that easily on chasing Rooney and one can expect Chelsea to move in with an improved offer for him.
Meanwhile, Hazard has not taken long to praise another striker and this time it’s his international team mate and Aston Villa star Benteke who is currently searching for a new club to progress.
“Benteke is my friend, We get on very well. His dream is to play even higher. As for his decision, I feel it’s the right one because he has the quality to impose himself wherever – to make his mark at any club.”
“I wasn’t surprised (by transfer request). We speak all the time and he told me, ‘Right, I’ve done well. What next?’ I believe he has got all the attributes to do well at a big club.”
Hazard is not doing bad attracting top strikers for Chelsea, it remains to be seen whether Blues will be able to sign one this summer or not. They have lost out on Cavani and now United are reluctant to sell Rooney to a premier league rival.
