Last summer, Pochettino splashed the cash and hired the services of Vincent Janssen from Eredivisie side AZ Alkmar.
The Netherlands forward was the top scorer in the Dutch league last season but he has been average for Spurs in the current campaign.
In 24 Premier League outings, the 22-year-old center forward has only netted two goals for the North Londoners and Mauricio needs a quality forward, who could amplify the quality of his strike-force in the summer transfer window.
One such star in the limelight is Spanish international and Real Madrid center forward Alvaro Morata. According to Spanish source AS, three PL clubs have moved in with offers to sign the former Juventus forward and Tottenham are one of them.
The 24-year-old La Roja star has a contract with Madrid until 2021 and the Spanish giants rate (Express) him around 50 million pounds ($64million).
Morata has been Real’s second choice striker behind French international Karim Benzema and must leave the Bernabeu for regular first team football.
This season, so far, he has only started 12 league games for the Los Blancos, scored 13 goals and provided 5 assists.
Alvaro has the quality to improve any attacking line and will be a world class signing for Spurs. However, for now, as per the provided AS link, Chelsea are leading the race to hire his services and are willing to offer a fee of 65 million euros to secure his signature this summer.

If it is correct we may sign Alvaro Morata the I hope we have really done our homework this time.
I feel sorry for Janssen because we firstly hear he was not fit enough. Then he only has a few minutes at the end of a game.
If unfit, then with our wonderful training facilities and management there surely was time to bring him up to speed.
This, is down to Mr Pochetino and staff.
No player can come on with just a few minutes and be expected to score every time. So let’s be fair and remember he is still very young. So, please give the guy a chance. Yes he may well be trying too hard at times
because he just wants to impress.
I’m sure that other fans would much rather see him on the pitch than Sissoko who most certainly has been given more playing time and with no goals. So, who really is a waste of money!
