Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp utilized James Milner, a natural midfield player, as a fullback in the last friendly fixture against AC Milan.
The Reds clearly need to sign a fullback to reinforce their back line and a few quality players are linked.
German international Jonas Hector has been in the limelight for quite some time and recently he has been linked with a move to Anfield in a deal worth $30 million.
Now, a new name is on the radar in the form of Italian defender Mattia De Sciglio who currently plays for the Rossoneri. The 23-year-old defender was an unused substitute against the Reds in the International Champions Cup.
Daily Star cite reports in the Italian media claiming that Klopp wants to seal the signing of the versatile fullback who is rated around 17 million pounds ($22.4 million).
De Sciglio can play effectively on either side of the defense. Last season, he featured in 29 games for Milan, played 15 games as a left back and 14 games as a right back (Transfermarkt).
He has already played in 26 fixtures for the senior national side and was a key member of the Italian squad at the European Championships under Antonio Conte.
