Tottenham’s six game winning run in the Barclays Premier League came to an end as West Ham United handed Spurs a blow in the title race.
The Hammers defeated the North Londoners 1-0 last night and now Spurs find themselves three points behind league leaders Leicester City.
West Ham manager Slaven Bilic believes that Spurs not only deserved to lose but they were also very lucky not to conceded more goals at Upton Park.
Bilic stated (Sky):
“We were from the first whistle on the front foot, and it should be more than 1-0, especially in the first half it could have been 2-0 or 3-0. They should be lucky it is only 1-0 to us.”
Tottenham supporters will surely not agree with the Croatian manager. West Ham took an early lead in the game thanks to Michail Antonio’s seventh-minute header from Payet’s corner. However, after the goal, Spurs mainly played the football, whereas the Hammers only played on the counter.
The North Londoners had 65% possession in the game but were not prolific enough on the night to get anything from the game. Surely, it was not a one sided game but Bilic thinks it was.
Next up, Tottenham host arch rivals Arsenal and a win for Spurs will hand the Gunners a massive blow in the title race.
