As we reach the halfway stage of the Premier League season, things are beginning to take shape, and we can get a clearer idea of which sides are in the running to win it meaning that the bookies have certainly seen an influx of bets on this league.
It’s tough, as the Premier League has rarely been less predictable – look at the crazy way things panned out last season. This makes it thrilling for sports betting fans, but for those football fans who want to be able to bet on football in a slightly less hazardous format, the football themed slots games like Soccer Safari represent a way of still getting your football fix and being able to place a small wager. If you want a break from the game altogether then your best bet, being a football fan is probably poker. You have more choice over the way things pan out – it is a game of skill moreso that luck. This could be a good decision, with no risk of losing your shirt thanks to a team tossing away an eight point advantage in the final weeks!
Essentially, for most of those still interested in placing a wager on the league – either fans of one of the relevant teams or those who are betting on the winners – there would seem to be three teams that have a realistic chance of being crowned champions: Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea.
Most of those betting on the winners of the Premier League are likely to be putting their money on one of the two Manchester sides, as they remain the clear favourites – just as they were before the season started. However, back in the summer it is likely that you would have gotten the lowest odds on City for the title, whereas now Manchester United are considered the hot favourites at most sports betting sites.
The simple reason for this is that seven point lead over their rivals, which is certainly not insurmountable (as we saw last season) but it will be hard for City to claw this back. Thus it could be argued that betting on United for the title is the safest bet, but also the one least likely to result in a major win. Betting on City represents a bit more of a risk, but the potential return is therefore greater. Then again, if you really want higher odds, but with a realistic chance of hitting the jackpot, Chelsea would be the side to wager on.
